The India-based firm, Tata Steel has extended its policy to cover all health benefits for its LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, and other allied communities) employees. The law provides scope to cover every single LGBTQ employees as well as those who live as married couples and live-in partners in a same-sex relationship.
The norms under the Diversity and Inclusion policy allow same-sex partners to avail of major health benefits such as health check-ups, medical benefits, joint house points, adoption leave, new-born parent leave, child-care leave and inclusion in the employee-assistance program. Apart from this, the policy also includes financial assistance for gender-reassignment surgery along with a 30-day special leave for the same.
