The U.S. Food and Drug Administration unveils its new plan on modernizing the tech plans in order to match up the level of advancements in the trending data-rich applications and amend the hiatus in scientific advances and new therapies. The plan will be referred to as the Technology Modernization Action Plan (TMAP).
The TMAP, specifically, focuses on the hardware and software technologies as a part of near-term modernization. This offers a broader perspective for the agencies on how they need to adapt TMAP. Meanwhile, the FDA also plans to start "small pilot use case projects” to link regulatory expertise with technology by considering the advice from FDA reviewers and technologists.
