Dr. Anthony Fauci, White House coronavirus advisor, in a conference with President Donald Trump, disputed the President's remarks that the U.S. is "rounding off the corner" over the disturbing data that shows sudden outburst in the COVID-19 cases across the country.
“I really do believe we’re rounding the corner,” said Trump at a White House news briefing, adding to which he said that the new weekly cases have declined by 44% since July, to which Fauci replied when MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell asked him what he thinks of the President's comment, he said, “I’m sorry, but I have to disagree with that because if you look at the thing that you just mentioned, the statistics, Andrea, they’re disturbing." He further added, “We’re plateauing at around 40,000 cases a day and the deaths are around 1,000."
